You’ve got questions? We’ve got answers!
- 1. How Deep is TOO Deep?More
Pressure tolerance is different for everyone. Some like a light touch, where others would like to feel as if they were steamrolled. Please let me know if the pressure needs to be adjusted to your liking.
- 2. ShavingMore
Shaving removes the upper layer of skin, along with the hair, leaving the skin exposed to anything that is applied to it. I am sure that you would prefer hairy legs over clogged pores, wouldn't you?
- 3. ChildrenMore
Babysitting services are not currently available. Please make arrangements for child care prior to your session.
- 4. Smoking & AlcoholMore
I request that you not smoke or drink alcohol prior to the session. Massage will push toxins from smoking and drinking alcohol through the body and cause it to absorb more toxins, and absorb more alcohol than it would, had you never taken the session. If you have had an alcoholic drink, even a very small one, your session will not occur, and a $10 cancellation fee will be charged.
- 5. Can I go to sleep?More
Sleeping during the massage is totally up to you. You either trust that you are safe during the session, or you are too tired to care. In any case, you are free to fall asleep, if you wish.
- 6. What to Expect During the MassageMore
I will ask you a series of questions regarding your medical health, allergies and Daily Activities. I ask this because there are some medical conditions that may prevent me from effectively treating you. Your first visit will take longer than most because I want to assess and determine your goals for the sessions. This will help me to plan the course of the massage.
Chair Massage Sessions, only
If you wear glasses or jewelry, I will ask you to remove them, so they won't be broken during the course of the session. I will ask you to put your cell phone on vibrate, or off entirely, if it isn't an emergency. I will ask where are the areas that you want me to focus on or avoid. Once we get you settled into the chair, just know that the face cradle is made for you to sink into. Rip a hole in the cover, so you can breathe, and let go of the stresses of the day.
Massage Table Sessions, only
After questions have been asked, you will be asked to undress to your level of comfort; that is, if you wish, you may leave your underwear on. Because the area covered on the back during the massage, bras cannot be worn. You will cover yourself with the sheet provided. If the room is too cold, you can request a blanket at any time. I will only uncover the area that will be worked on. I will use a medium - lotion or jojoba to lubricate the skin, which helps me to manipulate the muscles. During your massage session, I would like you to just take slow, deep breaths, and let your body relax. Please let me know if the pressure is too much, or too little: I can always adjust my pressure. You can request to stop at any time. Take in the atmosphere, and enjoy your session. Let me move your limbs and your head for you, and just experience the nurturing you receive.
With a Deep Tissue Session, the pressure may be deeper, but still within your control. Everyone's pressure tolerances are different. Please let me know if the pressure needs to be adjusted to your needs.
- 7. UnderwearMore
If you wish to wear your underwear on during your massage, it is not a problem. But because I will be working on your torso, ladies, you will be asked to remove your bra. You will be covered sufficiently during the massage, and only the area that I am working on will be exposed at the time that I am working on it.
- 8. Is it ticklish?More
If you experience a ticklish sensation, just let me know. Communication is very important between the client and the Therapist. If you become ticklish, I can change the technique being used, and if the ticklishness continues, I can move on elsewhere.
- 9. What if I feel uncomfortable during the Massage?More
If you feel uncomfortable at any time during the massage, please let me know. You should not have to endure an uncomfortable experience. Tell me, and I will either find a way to make it more comfortable for you, or end the session entirely.
- 10. After the MassageMore
After the massage, you will feel sleepy, and relaxed. Please take your time in getting up, because you may feel dizzy. Please drink water or herbal tea for the next few hours and following days after your Massage, to help hydrate the body. Drinking water has beneficial effects to the body, if consumed on a daily basis. Before you leave, I will remind you to turn your electronic devices back on.
- 11. LatenessMore
If you're going to be late, please call. If I'm going to be late, I will definitely call!
If you are going to be late to your massage session, please call to let me know approximately what time you will arrive. Please know that the time missed will not be made up. Example: If you are 15 minutes late to a 60 minute massage, your session will be 45 minutes, and you will be charged for the hour.
If you have already called, give me an approximate time, and you still cannot make it, the cost for the massage will be applied, and another session will not be made until the cost of the massage missed is paid.
- 12. TippingMore
- 13. Cell Phones/Beepers/General NoiseMore
These are a distraction to myself as well as you, because the focus is taken away from the relaxation aspect of the service provided. If it is a dire emergency that the device must be on, please set it to vibrate. If it isn't, I request that they are to be turned off until the session is over. You will be reminded to turn the device back on when you leave.
- 14. What will people think if people see me getting a Chair Massage?More
- 15. What is a "No Call/No Show"?More
A "no call/no show" client sets an appointment, and at the time of the appointment, does not show up at the scheduled time, and does not call to cancel. If you need to cancel, please, a 24 hour minimum is best. A client that does this will be charged the full amount of the session, and will not be able to set another appointment until the first session is paid for.
- 16. What are grounds for "Termination of session"?More
- Illicit or sexual comments made by client. If this occurs, I will cancel the appointment immediately, and you will be charged the full amount of the session.
- Inappropriate conduct made by client. Again, if this occurs, the session will stop, and you will be charged the full amount of the session.
- Client feeling that they can no longer continue with the session.
- When I feel that I can no longer continue with the session.
- Client previously having had an intake of alcohol or illicit drugs of any amount before the massage. If this occurs, the session will be terminated, and a $10 charge will be incurred.
